Every Isuzu D-MAX includes a comprehensive suite of safety features that operate automatically and independently to protect you. Isuzu’s Intelligent Driver Assistance System◊ (IDAS) technology which encapsulates passive and active safety systems, is standard across every D-MAX model. Using state-of-the-art sensors and multiple cameras, the D-MAX constantly monitors your surrounding environment.
A 5-star ANCAP rating is the pinnacle of safety a vehicle can achieve in Australia. The Isuzu D-MAX achieved a 5-star rating against ANCAP’s stringent testing criteria, making it one of the safest vehicles on Australian roads. The D-MAX BLADE variant is unrated.
Every D-MAX is packed with built-in active safety features to keep you out of trouble at a moment's notice.
ESC kicks-in when under or oversteering occurs and helps restore control
An audible warning sounds and red warning lights flash on the dashboard when an obstacle is detected in your path. If your D-MAX detects a potential collision is imminent, emergency braking is applied automatically.
TSC will apply brakes to individual vehicle wheels to help bring the trailer safely back under control.
Lane Departure Prevention is activated if the vehicle is about to depart from the driver's lane. The system assists by steering the vehicle in the correct direction to help prevent lane departure. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver when the vehicle starts to drift out of the current lane. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Unique to the D-MAX in the 1 tonne ute market, if there is danger of collision with vehicles approaching from behind in an adjacent lane, the vehicle will help avoid the collision by preventing lane departure. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
The Lane Keep Assist (LKA) system is designed to detect road lane markings and assist steering operation by keeping your vehicle in its lane while Adaptive Cruise Control is engaged. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
The Lane Support System (LSS) Switch, located on the steering wheel allows the driver to toggle the LSS on-or-off by pressing and holding the Switch for two seconds. The LSS includes Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) on automatic models. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) will still function regardless if the LKA is disabled via the Switch.
Provides instantaneous feedback regarding nearby obstacles at low speed on X-TERRAIN (LS-M, LS-U & LS-U+ ute models have rear park assist sensors only).
Experience higher image quality and a brighter view with theD-MAX's improved digital reversing camera. Hydrophobic coating prevents water and dirt from obscuring vision, and a wide horizontal and vertical field of view ensures a clear picture of your surroundings. The reversing camera's dynamic guidelines and exclusive zones makes it easy to navigate tricky parking situations with confidence.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) monitors your surrounding area while reversing into traffic, providing visual and audible warnings should an object approach from the left or right. (RCTA will automatically disable when a towing device is connected to the vehicle via a genuine Tow Bar Wiring Harness).
Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RTCB) monitors your surrounding area while reversing into traffic. It will automatically brake if an object approaches from the left or right.
When Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) detects a new speed zone, the IACC changes the vehicle speed and can activate the brakes when brake lights are detected ahead.
The D-MAX recognises traffic signs, displaying information such as speed limits in the Multi-Information Display on the dash for easy reference.
When active, the Intelligent Speed Limiter will prevent the vehicle from exceeding the signed speed limit.
Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) provides a visual warning in your side mirrors when an obstacle is approaching in your blind spot. (BSM will automatically disable when a towing device is connected to the vehicle via a genuine Tow Bar Wiring Harness).
While the D-MAX does everything it can to avoid driving incidents, there's a range of built-in passive safety features just in case.
For ultimate protection, every D-MAX comes with eight airbags including a centre airbag to protect front seat occupants in side-on collisions.
All D-MAX Crew Cab models are fitted with four ISOFIX mounts to accommodate two ISOFIX compatible child seats.
The D-MAX's superior ladder chassis is 20% stronger and wider than its predecessor thanks to larger chassis side rails and an added cross member.
Constructed from high-tensile steel, the cabin offers outstanding strength and rigidity, aided by anti-intrusion bars that provide increased protection in the event of side impact.
